Every number on StrengthCalc is an estimate. It is not a tested maximum, not a guarantee of what you can lift, and not medical, health or individual coaching advice.

Estimates, not guarantees

One rep max results are calculated from published prediction formulas applied to the set you enter. Real performance depends on technique, fatigue, sleep, stress, experience, equipment and the exercise itself. Formulas can over- or under-estimate an individual’s true max, and they become less reliable as the number of reps rises. See the methodologyfor the limits of each tool.

Not medical advice

The content on this site is general educational information. It does not replace advice from a doctor, physiotherapist or other qualified professional. If you have an injury, a medical condition, are pregnant, or are unsure whether strength training or maximal lifting is safe for you, seek professional advice before you start.

Lifting carries risk

Heavy and maximal lifting can cause injury. Use proper technique and suitable equipment, warm up, use a spotter or safety arms, and stop if you feel pain, dizziness or anything unusual. Never attempt a weight because a calculator suggests you could lift it.

Accuracy of content

We check calculations with automated tests and cite sources for factual claims, but errors are possible. If you find one, please tell us. Use of the site is also subject to the terms of use.

Advertising and affiliate links

StrengthCalc currently contains no advertising and no affiliate links. If that changes, ads and affiliate links will be clearly identified, and they will never affect how anything is calculated.
